ICAO Circular 106-AN180 FOREWORD The Second Meeting of the Unification of Units of Measurement Panel, Montreal, 22 March - 7 April 1971, recommended in its Recommendation 211 as follows "That material extracted from the documentation of UUMP I1 containing mathematical methods likely to assist in the solution of the vertical separa- tion problem be published in a form that will make it possible for interested specialists to make use of it." The Air Navigation Commission, acting under authority delegated by the Council took the following action at the Second Meeting of its Sixty-Seventh Session, on 6 May 1971 "Approved this Recommendation and requested the Secretary General to publish the material in the form of a Circular, possibly in loose-leaf form, indicating that similar material, of purely informative scope, may be added in the future to supplement or to supersede the mathematical and/or scientific material included in the Circular. 'I The Report of the Second Meeting of the Unification of Units of Measurement Panel, Doc 8938, UUMP/II 1971 has been published and is available as a salable ICAO document. This Circular has been published to assist research and development work in the appropriate aeronautical fields. Further material may be added to this Circular in the future, and submission of suitable material is invited. The Circular is published under the authority of the Secretary General.
