FOREWORD This Circular is in response to Recommendation 1.114 of the Report on the Limited North Atlantic Regional Air Navigation Meeting 1976, concerning the publication by ICAO of an information circular containing a description of all relevant aspects of the Omega navigation system. The basic material was prepared by the United States Coast Guard, and was presented to ICAO by the Representative of the United States to the International Civil Aviation Organization. It has been treated editorially to align the terminology and phraseology with that normally used in ICAO publications. The third edition of the Circular includes amendments provided by the U.S. Coast Guard and presented to ICAO by the Chief, Radionavigation Division, U.S. Coast Guard, in August 1982. These amendments affect Section 1 and Section 2 of the Circular.
