This Aerodrome Design Manual, Part 3 — Pavements (Doc 9157) provides guidance on the design of pavements, including their characteristics, and on evaluating and reporting on their bearing strength. The material included herein is closely associated with the specifications contained in Annex 14 — Aerodromes, Volume I — Aerodrome Design and Operations. The purpose of this manual is to encourage the uniform application of those specifications and to provide information and guidance to States.
