CIRCULAR 95-/78 ADDENDUM NO. 1 3/5/71 Subsequent to the issue, of Circular 95-/78 in 1969, information relating to methods of handling and exchange of information on airworthiness directives or their equivalent, requested in State Letter AN 3/33 - 68/208 dated 3 January 1969, has been received from Belgium, Burma, Czechoslovakia, Ghana, Italy, Paraguay, Portugal and Sweden. Material relevant to Appendices A and B of the Circular is reproduced in the Attachment 'hereto.

CIRCULAR 95-/78 ADDENDUM No. 1 ATTACm 2. the following in APPENDIX B METHODS OF HANDLING AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES OR THEIR EQUIVALENT AND EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION USED IN CONTRACTING STATES i Summaries of Mandatory Modifications and Inspections are prepared by the Department of Civil Aviation from two main sources namely Airworthiness Directives or Mandetory Modifications and Inspections ummaries issued by the Airworthiness authority of the State of manufacture and the special requirements peculiar to the operating conditions in this country. These Summaries are issued by the Department of Civil Aviation. ii Information to the individual aircraft owners is sent by telephone or by cable followed by letter. Information to the airworthiness authority of ,States of Registry is sent by cable. iii Information to all concerned is provided through notices to Licensed aircraft maintenance engineers, owners and operators of civil aircraft. CZECHOSLOVAKIA i The proposals for Service Bulletins are compiled by manufac- turers on their own initiative for example for the purpose of performance and qualities improving or by order of the airworthiness authority for example for airworthiness reason. Proposals are approved the Czech Aviation Inspection. ii The individual owners of aircraft of czechoslovak production are informed directly by aircraft manufacturers through Service Bulletins, which are disseminated to them. The airworthiness authorities of States of Registry are informed through the Aeronautical Information Circular, in which a summary of the approved Service Bulletins ie wblished regularly every three months. iii The individual Service Bulletins may be obtained directly from the aircraft manufacturers.
