Supplement No. 1 Doc 9914, AIG/08 INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION ORGANIZATION ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION AND PREVENTION AIG DIVISIONAL MEETING 2008 Montral, 13 to 18 October 2008 SUPPLEMENT NO. 1 1. The Council, at the eighth meeting of its 187th Session on 19 June 2009, and the Air Navigation Commission at the eighth meeting of its 180th Session on 3 March 2009, under authority delegated by the Council, took action as indicated hereunder on the recommendations of the Accident Investigation and Prevention AIG Divisional Meeting 2008. 2 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR AMENDMENT OF STANDARDS AND RECOMMENDED PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES RSPP 2.1 The Air Navigation Commission made a preliminary review of the recommendations for amendments to Standards and Recommended Practices, and agreed that they should be transmitted to Contracting States and interested international organizations for comments, together with the Commissions comments and proposals thereon. Following receipt of these comments, a further review will be conducted by the Commission, which will then present its final proposals to the Council for adoption of the amendments to Annex 13. 2.2 These recommendations were 1.1/1, 1.1/2, 1.1/3, 1.1/4, 1.1/5, 1.1/6, 1.1/7, 1.1/8, 1.2/2, 1.2/3, 1.2/4, 1.2/5, 1.2/6, 1.3/1, 1.4/1, 1.6/1 1.6/3, 1.6/7, 1.6/8, 1.7/2, 4/1, 5/1, 5/3 and 6/1. 3. RECOMMENDATIONS OTHER THAN FOR STANDARDS AND RECOMMENDED PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES 3.1 In accordance with the Directives to Divisional-type Air Navigation Meetings and Rules of Procedure for their Conduct Doc 8143, the Commission agreed to allocate follow-up responsibility of non-RSPP recommendations as follows.
- 2 - Report Reference Action by Council C or Air Navigation Commission ANC Recommendation Title and Action Taken Recommendation No. Page No. 1.2/1 1.2-2 ANC List of Examples of Serious Incidents Approved the recommendation for its incorporation in the work programme. 1.4/2 1.4-3 ANC Development of a definition for contributing factors Approved the recommendation for its incorporation in the work programme. 1.6/2 1.6-2 ANC Note to paragraph 6.3 Approved the recommendation and the consequential Note, and agreed that the Note be consolidated into the proposals for amendments to SARPs. 1.6/4 1.6-4 ANC Safety recommendations of global concern Approved the recommendation for its incorporation in the work programme. 1.6/5 1.6-4 ANC Guidelines on the identification, drafting and follow-up of safety recommendations Approved the recommendation for its incorporation in the work programme. 1.6/6 1.6-5 ANC Common tool and common taxonomy for safety recommendations Noted the recommendation and the related work being progressed by the European Union. 1.7/1 1.7-2 ANC Further Study of Protection of Safety Data Approved the intent of the recommendation and requested the Secretary to address this matter as part of the progress report on the implementation of paragraph 5.12 of Annex 13 to be presented at the next ordinary Session of the Assembly, and that this issue should be brought back to the Commission after the Assembly.
